July 9, 2025 <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:31 p.m., July 9, 2025, by <br />President Schwab. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Zarlingo, Fosse, Vogeli, <br />Tuohy, and President Schwab were present. Council Members Bader was expected to be late and <br />Council Member Rhyne was excused. <br /> <br />Council Member Zarlingo led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Council Member Tuohy recited the land acknowledgement. <br /> <br />Council Member Bader arrived at 6:32 p.m. <br /> <br />The minutes of the July 3, 2025, meeting were approved. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin congratulated Deputy Chief Goetz on his promotion, advised that 24 high school <br />youth interns are currently working throughout the city, and provided an update on various city <br />events happening over the weekend. <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> <br />The Council received no written comments and no members of the public spoke. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNCIL <br /> <br />Several council members congratulated Deputy Chief Goetz on his promotion. <br /> <br />Council Member Zarlingo thanked the young man and community for saving the life of a child at <br />Silver Lake and thanked news organizations for publishing the safety initiatives provided by the <br />Fire Department. He also attended the Snohomish County Tomorrow’s Exploratory Committee. <br /> <br />Council Member Fosse encouraged the public to reach out to elected officials to ask clarifying <br />questions during uncertain political times. <br /> <br />
