This was due to them being installed after the previous survey map was
prepared and used on the construction plans. Per contractors check on the finish floor
elevations, Unit 1/2 was found to be approximately 1.0-feet below the initial design of that
building. Additionally, Unit 3/4 was found to be approximately 0.4-feet higher that previously
thought.
• Due to the relative "flatness" of the site in the central area, it was critical to revised the
previously designed finish grades of the new drive aisle in order to provide adequate fall
between the existing garage elevations and the new drive aisle/storm system. From the
previously approved drawings, the finish grades of the new drive aisle have been lowered by
approximately 0.5' to 1.5' in depth.
• With the lowering of the finish grades on the drive aisle, the designed elevations of the new
storm system were also revised. No significant changes to the slopes and lengths were
made but the overall system was lowered by approximately 0.75' to 1.0'.
• Per conversations with the contractor, they have decided to go with a different company who
makes the exact copy of the storm chamber system previously design. Note that the only
significant change between the two products is that the company (Contech)that we have
decided to use actually has about 5% more storage volume in their system as oppose to the
Stormtech product. The updated system maintains the same overall height but actually
provides slightly more storage volume resulting in an "oversized" vault. Due to slight
variations in the individual chamber sizes, the total footprint has also slightly changed but
has no impact to the surrounding design.
RAIDSERVER\2011\111003A\ENG\Field Change Cover Letter
LAND USE CONSULTANTS • CIVIL ENGINEERS • LAND SURVEYORS • ENGINEERING CORPORATION
