cc
QUALITY CONTROLS )RPORATION
September 5, 2023
Everett Riverfront Building B
Instrumentation and Controls
QCC Project No. P2073
Subject: Building B Control Panel and Fire Alarm System Comm. Testing
The following actions were taken as part of the commissioning process at Everett Riverfront Building B
to verify successful hardwired communication between the Methane Gas Control Panel (MGCP-B) and
the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP).
Both the FACP and MGCP-B panels were put into test mode to prevent a full evacuation protocol to
occur while testing.
QCC simulated a high methane level alarm from the PLC to send a dry contact signal to the FACP. FPI
confirmed the FACP received the signal and would trigger a building evacuation when the system is in
normal operation. The FACP returns a confirmation signal back to the MGCP-B PLC to confirm the
system is performing an evacuation. This signal was verified to function correctly.
The MGCP-B also receives stairwell fan damper position and running feedback through the FACP. These
signals were simulated at the FACP and confirmed at the MGCP-B.
Sincerely,
Christina Hsu, P.E.
Project Engineer
