f J ORDINANCE NO. 17D An ordinance relatins• to licensing and regulating the busi- ness of conveying goods between points within the city of Everett and points outside thereof, by the use of vehicles, providing a penalty for the violation thereof, and amending Ordinance No. 945 of the city of Everett as a ,ended by Ordinance No. 1601. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 945 of the city of Everett, as amended by Ordinance No. 1601 of said city, be, and hereby is amended to read as follows: Section 1: No person, company or corporation shall engage in the business of conveying pas:engera from one part of the city to another part thereof, for hire or reward, by the use of any hack, cab, wagon, omnibus, gurney, automobile, motor vehicle or other vehicle, and no person, company, or corporation shall engage in the business of conveying goods or things from one part of the city to another part thereof, or between points within the city and points outside thereof, for hire or reward, by the use of any dray, job or express wagon, auto- mobile, n:otof' vehicle or other vehicle, without first having obtained a license therefor, in the manner hereinafter provided. The applicant for any such license shall pay the amount of fee therefor to the city treasurer, who shall thereupon issue his receipt therefor, and upon presentation of such receipt to the city clerk it shall be the city clerk's duty to issue such license. Section 2: That section 7 of said Ordinance No. 945, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 7: Every driver of any hack, cab, gurney, omnibus, or automobile, shall,at all times while the same is in use,keep con- spicuously posted within such vehicle of which he has charge,in such position as to be easily read, a printed schedule in plain Roman lett- ers and Arabic numerals designa:tiAg axid showing the rates as fixed by this ordinance.
