• <br /> ORDIPNANOE NO._.___ d:" <br /> An ordinance providing' for a license tax upon the business <br /> of filling prescriptions for intoxicating liquors within the city <br /> of Everett, providing a penalty for the violation of the provisions <br /> hereof, knd declaring an emergency. <br /> TT-F CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORD AIY: <br /> Section 1: The words "intoxicating liquors" wherever used in <br /> this ordinance shall be held and construed to include whisky, brandy, <br /> gin, runs ale, wine, beer, and any spirituous, vinous, fermented, <br /> or malt liquor, and every other liquor or, liquid containing intoxi- <br /> cating properties which is capable of being used as a beverage. <br /> Section 2: A license tax is hereby imposed upon the business <br /> and profession of filling prescriptions for intoxicating liquors <br /> within the city of Everett. <br /> Section 3: The amount of said tax shall be as follows: for <br /> filling any prescription for intoxicating liquors -.cents <br /> each presctiption. <br /> Section 4: The foregoing license tax shall be imposed upon <br /> all of said business from and after February lst, 1917. <br /> Section 5: Each drugs . st and pharmacist within the city of <br /> Everett shall pay to the city treasurer of said Everett, on or <br /> before the 5th day of March , 1917, and on or before 5th day <br /> of each succeeding month thereafter, the sun of cents for each <br /> and every prescription for intoxicating liquors filled by him or <br /> at his place of business during the preceeding month. <br /> Section 6: Each druggist or pharmacist within the city of <br /> Everett filling prescriptions for intoxicating liquors, on <br /> or before the 5th day of March, 1917, and on or before the 5th day <br /> of each succeeding month, shall accompany his report of liquors <br /> disposed of during the preceeding month with a receipt from ity <br /> treasurer showir_ . payment to said treasurer of the sum of ".1-r =,r cents <br /> for : ach and every prescription for intoxicating liquors filled by <br />
