ORDINANCE NO. 2450-00 <br /> AN ORDINANCE creating the special construction fund <br /> entitled "City Facility Construction", Fund 342, to accumulate all design <br /> and construction costs for ongoing city facility construction and <br /> improvement projects. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council recognized the need to construct or remodel facilities for <br /> the provision of city services such as fire protection, police protection, and other <br /> general government uses; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has directed the administration to proceed with the <br /> development of a precinct station in south Everett; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has directed the administration to proceed with the <br /> development of updated fire station facilities in central Everett; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council periodically directs the administration to construct, <br /> remodel, refurbish, or otherwise develop facilities that will be used by various <br /> departments to furnish city services to the public; and, <br /> WHEREAS, a construction fund is necessary to collect revenues, segregate cash <br /> accounts, and to appropriate expense authority, that will provide full accountability of <br /> the resources assigned to each project; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: A special design and construction fund is hereby established as Fund 342 <br /> entitled "City Facility Construction" to accumulate all costs for authorized city facility <br /> construction and improvement projects. <br /> Section 2: Authorization is hereby given to accumulate costs and distribute payments <br /> from fund 342 for design and construction of city facility construction and improvement <br /> projects as established by budget amendment or plans and systems ordinance. <br /> Section 3: Authorization is hereby granted to the Facilities/Property Management <br /> Director under the administration of the Mayor, to assume full responsibility for <br /> conducting all tasks and performing all necessary steps to accomplish the actions <br /> authorized by this Ordinance. <br />
