<br /> <br />2025 TDP – FINAL DRAFT 8 <br /> <br /> <br />STATE, AGENC Y AND CITY GOALS <br />WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION GOALS <br /> <br />Everett Transit aligns its goals with the state’s: <br /> <br />• Economic vitality – To promote and develop transportation systems that stimulate, support, and enhance <br />the movement of people and goods to ensure a prosperous economy <br />• Preservation – To maintain, preserve, and extend the life and utility of prior investments in transportation <br />systems and services <br />• Safety – To provide for and improve the safety and security of transportation customers and the <br />transportation system <br />• Mobility – To improve the predictable movement of goods and people throughout Washington State <br />• Environment – To enhance Washington’s quality of life through transportation investments that promote <br />energy conservation, enhance healthy communities, and protect the environment <br />• Stewardship – To continuously improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the transportation <br />system <br /> <br />AGENCY <br />The current Everett Transit Long Range Plan has listed the following priorities to achieve by 2040: <br />1. Prioritize transit service into the areas that will likely see the greatest amount of growth <br />2. Ensure the level of transit service along a corridor is supported by future household and job density <br />3. Restructure routes to integrate with regional transit investments <br />The Long Range Plan will resume its planned update, with adoption in Q1 of 2026. The plan will also align with the <br />City of Everett’s Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />CITY <br />The Transportation Element of the City’s Comprehensive plan outlines the following transportation goals: <br />GOAL TR-1 Everett has a safe, resilient, sustainable, equitable, and accessible multimodal transportation <br />system that serves all members of the community. <br />GOAL TR-2 Everett’s transportation system is complete, integrated, and fulfills the daily needs for residents, <br />businesses, major institutions, and industrial centers in an efficient and sustainable manner. <br />GOAL TR-3 Everett’s multimodal transportation network is developed based on adopted land use vision and <br />zoning to accommodate and support the City’s targeted population and employment growth. <br />
