i <br /> „tiosil:#0) <br /> yr- <br /> :ect ion 44: TE -TING METERS: In the event of a <br /> meter getting out of order and failing to reg- <br /> ister, the consumer shall be charged at the <br /> average daily consumption as shown by the <br /> meter when in order. <br /> When accuracy of record of a water meter <br /> is questioned, it shall be removed at the con- <br /> sumer's request and shall in his presence be <br /> tested in the shops of the Water Department, <br /> and a report thereon be duly made. Both <br /> parties to the test must accept the findings <br /> so made.if the test discloses an error against <br /> the consumer of more than 3 per cent. in the <br /> meter's register, the excess of the consump- <br /> tion in the three previous readings shall be <br /> credited to the consumer's meter account, and <br /> the Water Department will bear the entire ex- <br /> pense of tle test and the deposit required as <br /> hereinafter prescribed shall be returned; but <br /> where no such error is found the person who <br /> has requested the test shall pay the charge <br /> for making such test. <br /> Before making a test of any meter the per- <br /> son requesting such test shall at the time of <br /> filing his request with the Department, make <br /> a deposit with the City TresSurer of the - <br /> amount charged for such test, subject to'the <br /> conditions herein stated, which charges are <br /> filed as follows: <br /> For testing %-inch meters to %-inch <br /> meters, inclusive $1.00 <br /> For testing 1-inch meters to 1%/s-inch <br /> meters, inclusive 1.50 <br /> For testing 2-inch meters to 3 -inch <br /> meters, inclusive 2.00 <br /> For testing 4 -inch meters 4.00 <br /> For testing 6 -inch meters and larger 5.00 <br /> No meter shall be removed, or in any way <br /> disturbed, or the seal broken, except in the <br /> presence of the proper authorities. <br /> Upon any person applying for the installa- <br /> tion of a water meter, such applicant shall pay <br />
