STORM DRAINAGE OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE MANUAL <br />FEBRUARY 22, 2022 <br />COMPASS HEALTH <br />3 <br />GENERAL GUIDELINES <br />General guidelines and items not part of the DOE Manual standard maintenance are listed here. <br />General: <br />1. Proper maintenance of public and private stormwater facilities is necessary to ensure <br />they serve their intended function. <br />2. Drainage systems shall be inspected at least annually. A representative of the local <br />government should also inspect private facilities at least annually to ensure compliance <br />by the owner of the following maintenance requirements. Annual maintenance shall be <br />increased in frequency if conditions warrant. <br />3. Any deterioration threatening the structural integrity of the facilities shall be <br />immediately repaired. <br />4. Warning signs (e.g. "Dump No Waste - Drains to Puget Sound") shall be painted or <br />embossed on or adjacent to all storm drain inlets. They shall be repainted as needed. <br />5. Parking lots shall be swept when necessary to remove debris. <br />Yard Drains: The yard drains are similar in maintenance requirements to catch basins.
