The <br />Snohomish County will reimburse the City of Everett $101,000 for the detective position <br />for the term of July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. <br /> <br />Project summary statement: <br />The State of Washington directs funding to the Washington Association of Sheriffs and <br />Police Chiefs to provide grants to local agencies to verify the addresses and residency of <br />all registered sex offenders and kidnapping offenders. Snohomish County Sheriff’s <br />Office has created a task force to coordinate these activities and will reimburse a total of <br />$101,000 to the City of Everett to have one full-time detective assigned to this Task <br />Force. <br /> <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents and agreements with Snohomish <br />County regarding the sex offender address and residency verification program services, <br />allowing the Everett Police Department to accept and utilize the funds in the amount of <br />$101,000. <br />
