A grant match of $28,144.05 (25%) is required in the 2025-2027 program. This will be <br />sourced through the Solid Waste Utility Fund (402). No budget amendments are necessary. <br /> <br />Project summary statement: <br />The WA State Department of Ecology Local Solid Waste Financial Assistance program provides <br />funding to local governments for solid and hazardous waste planning and implementation. <br />With this funding, Public Works staff will continue to support waste reduction and recycling <br />efforts by providing education and information to the public, coordinating two recycling <br />collection events, assisting businesses with recycling efforts, increasing public access to recycling <br />opportunities in public spaces and at special events and collaborating with local haulers to <br />improve recycling services.
