I <br /> , <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 221a <br /> An Ordinance providing for the issuance of $600,000.00 <br /> 20-year general Bonds of Everett, in. accordance with the proposi- <br /> tion submitted by Ordinance 1662, of said Everett, passed June 29, <br /> 1915, to the voters of said Everett at a special election held <br /> therein on August 24th, 1915, and adopted by said voters at said <br /> election, providing for the form and tenor of such Bonds , the date <br /> thereof and order of retiring the same and the payment of the prin- <br /> cipal and interest thereof and establishing a fund for the payment <br /> of such principal and interest and ratifying and confirming the <br /> sale of said Bonds to Carstens & Earles, Incorporated,and declaring <br /> an emergency, <br /> WHEREAS, at a special election, held in the City of <br /> Everett, State of Washington, on August 24th, 1915, under and <br /> pursuant to Ordinance Yo. 1662 of said City, passed June 29th, 1915 <br /> more than two thirds of the qualified voters of said City voting <br /> at said election, voted in favor of the construction of a pipe <br /> line and all necessary and convenient structures and accessories <br /> for diverting water from the Sultan River and conveying the same <br /> by gravity for the use of said City and its in .abitants in suffi- <br /> cient quantities to supply said City and its inhabitants with wa- <br /> ter and to acquire by purchase, condemnation or otherwise , all <br /> property necessary or convenient for the proper construction, con- <br /> trol, maintenance and operation of said pipe line, and in favor <br /> of the proposition of issuing general bonds of said Everett to <br /> raise money to pay for such pipe line and accessories, and <br /> WHEREAS, said Bonds were duly advertised for sale and <br /> the bid of Carstens & Earles, Incorporated, was the best bid re- <br /> ceived for said Bonds, which said bid was duly accepted by said <br /> City, by resolution passed March 9th, 1916, <br /> NOW, THEREBORE, The City of Everett does Ordain: <br /> Section 1.- That the Mayor and City Clerk of said Everett <br /> be and they hereby are authorized and directed to issue general <br /> -1- <br />
