I , • ORDINANCE NO. 221a An Ordinance providing for the issuance of $600,000.00 20-year general Bonds of Everett, in. accordance with the proposi- tion submitted by Ordinance 1662, of said Everett, passed June 29, 1915, to the voters of said Everett at a special election held therein on August 24th, 1915, and adopted by said voters at said election, providing for the form and tenor of such Bonds , the date thereof and order of retiring the same and the payment of the prin- cipal and interest thereof and establishing a fund for the payment of such principal and interest and ratifying and confirming the sale of said Bonds to Carstens & Earles, Incorporated,and declaring an emergency, WHEREAS, at a special election, held in the City of Everett, State of Washington, on August 24th, 1915, under and pursuant to Ordinance Yo. 1662 of said City, passed June 29th, 1915 more than two thirds of the qualified voters of said City voting at said election, voted in favor of the construction of a pipe line and all necessary and convenient structures and accessories for diverting water from the Sultan River and conveying the same by gravity for the use of said City and its in .abitants in suffi- cient quantities to supply said City and its inhabitants with wa- ter and to acquire by purchase, condemnation or otherwise , all property necessary or convenient for the proper construction, con- trol, maintenance and operation of said pipe line, and in favor of the proposition of issuing general bonds of said Everett to raise money to pay for such pipe line and accessories, and WHEREAS, said Bonds were duly advertised for sale and the bid of Carstens & Earles, Incorporated, was the best bid re- ceived for said Bonds, which said bid was duly accepted by said City, by resolution passed March 9th, 1916, NOW, THEREBORE, The City of Everett does Ordain: Section 1.- That the Mayor and City Clerk of said Everett be and they hereby are authorized and directed to issue general -1-
