ORDINANCE NO. 2471-00 AN ORDINANCE amending the Zoning Map of the City of Everett as provided by Ordinance No. 1671-89 as amended (Title 19, EMC) to encompass an area east of Airport Road, west of HWY 99 and south of Casino Road. WHEREAS, the City Council finds that on June 6, 2000, the Planning Commission held a public hearing regarding establishment of zoning for the herein described land area annexed to the City; and WHEREAS, after the public hearing the Planning Commission made the recommendation that the herein described land area annexed to the City should be zoned R-1 (Single Family Detached Low Density), R-2 (Single Family Detached Medium Density), R-3L (Multiple Family Low Density), R-3 (Multiple Family Medium Density) and MM (Business Park); and NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: Findings That the City Council finds that the zoning of the herein described land area annexed to the City as R-1, R-2, R-3L, R-3 and MM, is consistent with the applicable provisions of the Everett Comprehensive Plan, (1.2, 1.3, 1.5, 1.6 and 5.3) bears a substantial relation to the public health, safety and welfare and promotes the best long term interests of the Everett Community. That the City Council assigns R-S as an interim zone to area 9, on the legal description index map contained herein, in response to public testimony and property owner's desire and that this area's land use designation be reviewed in the annual 2000 Comprehensive Plan update.
