1.2 Proposed Construction Activities Description of site development (example: subdivision): The project includes the construction of a new 22,800-SF learning resource building, pedestrian walkways, landscaping, and surrounding pavement for parking and access. Description of construction activities (example: site preparation, demolition, excavation): The project includes the demolition of existing pavement and buildings within the site, excavation and filling operations to accommodate the building foundation system, and trenching for underground utilities. Description of site drainage, including flow from and onto adjacent properties. Must be consistent with Site Map in Appendix A: Stormwater from the new building and pavement will be collected and conveyed by catch basins and storm pipe to an existing combined sewer system within the site property. Description of final stabilization (example: extent of revegetation, paving, landscaping): Most of the site will be composed of pavement surfacing, except for a large landscaping open space north of the building and N. Broadway frontage landscaping. Contaminated Site Information: Proposed activities regarding contaminated soils or groundwater(example: on-site treatment system, authorized sanitary sewer discharge): The existing site is located within the Everett Smelter Cleanup Site. Soil testing for arsenic and lead contaminants is being conducted to determine if the contaminants are present in the soil. If lead or arsenic are found at concentrations above MTCA cleanup levels, EvCC will develop a soil remediation plan and enter the Voluntary Cleanup Program with Ecology. 11ar; e 15
