Cindy Bergsma
From: Terry and Teddy Starzl <starzlfamily@hotmail.com>
Sent: Sunday, December 04, 2016 8:29 PM
To: Engineering/ Public Services;Jeff Heilman
Subject: Request For Extension of Permit C0912-015 and E0912-135, 1202 Rucker Ave.
Attachments: 2011jpg; 2016.png
December 4, 2017 Extension granted until
------- but be advised if no progress made after
Everett PubIjS_Wor1ks = ' ''~ this date, additional fees may be owed.
(/J
STATUS OF CITY OF EVERETT PERMITS
Address: 1202 Rucker Ave
Permit: C0912-015 and E0912-135
pctfully re_guest_an_&xtensfon=to the permits to continue the on-going restoration and renovation of this
100 year old house.
Renovation work on this house is actively continuing, however, two challenges have been met during the last
summer and fall:
1. Water damage from the deteriorating metal siding was first noticed in February 2016. The metal siding was
removed, and then the rotted boards and windows were repaired during the past two summers. It was
important to immediately finish the renovations and repairs during the summer months to allow the painting
and caulking to dry. This exterior work detracted from my ability to continue progress on the interior
electrical and drywall wall work normally done for the permits. The attached photos show that significant
progress on the exterior has been made to this project.
2. On October 2, 2016 1 was deployed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)to Tallahassee,
Florida for Hurricane Matthew. As a Telecommunications Specialist, I provided data networking support to
the Joint Federal Office for the recovery effort.
Currently, I have contracted CM Heating of Everett to install a fireplace insert and stainless steel chimney liner
on December 19, 2016. The new fireplace insert exceeds Washington State's Particle Emission Standards and
will be an improvement over the existing open fireplace. In January of 2017, 1 will start demolition of the
upstairs bathroom. With active permits I can replace the old wiring, insulate the walls and install drywall for
inspections in February and March of next year.
Please call if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for your consideration.
Terry Starzl
1202 Rucker Ave
Everett, WA 98201
360-536-6924
