r-, <br />SNO-ISLE TECH 2O23 SMALL WORKS Section 01 41 00, Page 1 <br />McGRANAHAN ARCHITECTS BIDDER DESIGNED COMPONENTS <br />BIDDER DESIGNED COMPONENTS <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br />A. Certain components of the Work under this project are to be Bidder Designed. It is the Contractor's <br />responsibility to coordinate and assume or assign to subcontractors the complete responsibility for the design, <br />calculations, submittals, fabrication, transportation, and installation of the Bidder Designed portions or <br />components as required in the Construction Documents. The Bidder is responsible for submitting to the <br />governing jurisdiction all Bidder Designed documents required for the separate approval for each Bidder <br />Designed item. There are no exceptions. Bidder Designed components of this Work are defined as complete, <br />operational systems provided for their intended use. <br />B. The Architect's or Engineer of Record's (A/E) review of Bidder Designed submittals shall be for design intent <br />and shall not lessen nor shift the responsibility from the Bidder or the assigned subcontractor to the Owner nor <br />to the design professional. The Owner shall not be responsible for paying for any delays, additional products, <br />additional hours of work or overtime, restocking or rework required due to failure by the Contractor or the <br />subcontractor to coordinate their Work with the Work of other trades on the project or to provide the Bidder <br />Designed portion or component in a timely manner to meet the schedule of the project. <br />C. Refer to systems description in technical Sections of these Specifications for additional information on Bidder <br />Designed work. <br />1.02 DEFINITIONS <br />A. Bidder: Person or entity providing bidder designed component, applying for building permit and coordinating <br />Bidder Designed systems with basic building and with each other. Includes coordination of required <br />submittals. Also known as the subcontractor awarded the contract for the bidder designed scope of work. <br />B. Bidder Designed Engineer: Washington registered professional Engineer, engaged by the Bidder to provide <br />plans, computations, and specifications required by the Building Official for a designated bidder designed <br />specialty system, in accordance with criteria set forth in A/E plans and specifications. <br />C. Seal: Certification that plans, computations, and specifications were designed and prepared under the direct <br />supervision of the Architect or Engineer, licensed in Washington State, whose name appears thereon. <br />D. Review Stamp: Certification that A/E has reviewed plans, computations, and specifications bearing the seal of <br />the Bidder Designed Engineer, verifying conformance with information given and design concept set forth in <br />A/E's plans and specifications. <br />E. Approval Stamp: Certification that the Building Official has reviewed a submittal and finds it acceptable with <br />respect to applicable code compliance. <br />F. Bidder Designed Components: Components of a project which will be subject to lateral and/or vertical loads or <br />require system engineering and are not designed by the A/E. The components will have to be designed by the <br />Bidder Designed Engineer who received the subcontract for that component of the Project. <br />mcg-ARC 2120.000 <br />February 28, 2023 <br />
