In accordance with Table 36-2,freestanding signs subject to sign category A must provide a minimum <br /> 10-foot setback from the lot line abutting the street ROW and a minimum 10-foot setback from the interior lot <br /> line. Please update the proposed sign location to be in conformance and dimension the setbacks for Staff <br /> review. <br /> • Sign Design. Per EMC 19.36.050(A)(2),freestanding signs must have a substantial base that is at least half as <br /> wide and thick as the sign itself. Additionally, sign bases must have an architectural treatment that incorporates <br /> materials similar to the sign and/or building. Please revise the sign to provide a substantial base and <br /> architectural treatment to demonstrate compliance. <br /> • Minimum Lettering. Please dimension the height lettering so staff may determine compliance with EMC <br /> 19.36.050(A)(1)which requires a minimum lettering height of 6-inches for the primary tenant or entity and 3- <br /> inches for secondary tenant or entity. <br /> • Landscaping. Per EMC 19.36.050(A)(3), all freestanding signs shall include protective islands and curbing at least <br /> 3' in all directions and shall be landscaped. Please revise the site plan to dimension the protective island and <br /> provide landscaping in accordance with the above-noted section. <br /> • Landscape Inspection.A landscape inspection will be required; please schedule a landscape inspection through <br /> our Online Permitting Portal once the required landscaping has been implanted. <br /> Resubmittal instructions for online applications are outlined here.
