SWPPP ELEMENTS
1 —PRESERVE VEGETATION/MARK CLEARING LIMITS
The land disturbance activities for development requires the consideration to be given to
minimize the removal of existing trees, disturbance and compaction of native soils,
except as needed for building purposes. The duff layer, native soil and vegetation shall
be retained in an undisturbed state to the maximum degree practicable.
Best Management Practices (BMPs)to be used:
• BMP C101: Preserving Natural Vegetation
• BMP C103: High Visibility Fence
2-ESTABLISH CONSTRUCTION ACCESS
A construction access is required for this project.
Best Management Practices (BMPs)to be used:
• BMP C 105: Stabilized Construction Entrance
3-CONTROL FLOW RATES
Flow rates will be controlled by using SWPPP Element#4, sediment controls.
4-INSTALL SEDIMENT CONTROLS
Due to the permeability of the site soils, surface flows from the site are expected to be
negligible. However, silt fences shall be installed down slope of the exposed earth.
Best Management Practices (BMPs)to be used:
• BMP C233: Silt Fence
5-STABILIZE SOILS
All exposed and un-worked soils and stockpiles shall be stabilized with BMPs. The soil
stockpile shall be located within the disturbed area as shown on the SWPPP. Soil
stockpiles and un-worked soil areas shall be stabilized with temporary and permanent
seeding or with plastic covering. No soil shall remain exposed and unworked for more
than 2 days between October 1 and April 30, or seven days between May 1 and
September 30.
Dust control prevents wind transportation of dust from the disturbed area onto roadways,
drainage ways, and surface waters. All areas, subjected to surface and air movement, will
implement BMPs to minimize dust.
