The wall height exceeds the prescriptive limitation of the IRC and the shear walls at the location of the stairway do not meet ` the shear wall aspect ratio of 3.5 per Table 4.3.4 of the Special Design Provisions for Wind and Seismic (SDPWS). Continuing with the previous comment, the walls at the stairway should be balloon framed from floor to roof to prevent a hinge at the 2nd floor level or provide a wind beam to resist horizontal wind loads acting on the wall.
