The programmed available funding for engineering and design of this project is $10,000,000. Project summary statement: Public Works seeks a Professional Services Agreement with Brown and Caldwell, Inc. for engineering analysis and design services for the WPCF Headworks Replacement Project for a total amount not to exceed $8,998,917. Brown and Caldwell, Inc was selected through a competitive Request for Qualifications process. The headworks structure is a key piece of wastewater treatment infrastructure at the Water Pollution Control Facility. It was constructed in 1983-1984 and has been upgraded and repaired many times since. The headworks structure needs complete replacement due to ongoing and increasing internal structural degradation and process equipment deterioration. Headworks replacement is being implemented in two phases, engineering assessment and design and construction. Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign the Professional Services Agreement with Brown and Caldwell, Inc., to provide engineering consultant services for the WPCF Headworks Replacement Project for total amount $8,998,917.
