To cover the excess costs, <br />this ordinance authorizes an additional appropriation of $81,564 from Fund 119 – Street <br />Improvements. <br /> <br />Project summary statement: <br />This project completed design of a tier 1 bicycle facility in Everett’s Bicycle Master Plan, facility <br />T1-C1. Design included a new bicycle facilities on California Street between Colby and Broadway; <br />between Broadway and Maple St; and from the intersection of California St/Maple St to the <br />bicycle trail near US 2 located at Hewitt Ave and Chestnut St. Design also included new bicycle <br />safety striping on California between Colby Ave and Broadway; bicycle lanes and parking changes <br />on California between Broadway and Maple St; intersection safety improvements on California <br />between Cedar and Maple, and from California/Maple to Hewitt/Chestnut. Design was <br />completed in house. <br />The City will proceed with construction phase of the project when additional grant funds are <br />available. Upon reopening the project, the department will return to council with a new funding <br />Ordinance. <br /> <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Adopt an Ordinance closing a Special Improvement Project entitled “California Street Pedestrian <br />& Bicycle Corridor” Fund 303, Program 119, as established by Ordinance No. 3738-20. <br /> <br />City Council Agenda Item Cover Sheet
