October 3, 2025
Dear Everett City Council Members,
On behalf of Housing Hope, I am writing in support of the Downtown Improvement District
(DID) renewal.
For nearly 30 years, the DID has provided an invaluable service to keep our downtown clean,
safe, and inviting. As a property owner, we pool our resources to fund the Downtown
Improvement District and find great value in the services. Cleaning sidewalks, r emoving graffiti,
and removing trash on a daily basis is not only a business necessity, but also an essential
ingredient for encouraging civic pride and community engagement.
Housing Hope particularly appreciates the DID’s role in strategic planning for a thriving
downtown, and as a convener for events and conversat ions that strengthen relationships among
downtown business owners, customers, and community members. Everett is stronger because of
the DID and Housing Hope is proud to be part of this vital effort.
The DID is critical for helping small businesses, property owners, and non -profits survive and
thrive. This program has proven to be a worthwhile community investment and deserves your
continued support for its renewal.
Sincerely,
Rachel Downes
Chief Strategic Officer
Housing Hope
