The total potential cost will
not exceed $744,313.67. The new truck is expected to be delivered in June 2026.
Project summary statement:
Proposals were requested from drainage and sewerline camera truck manufacturers to
provide a complete truck to replace J0084, a 2008 Ford F-550 gas CUES camera box
truck.
Public Works requires a drainage and sewerline truck for daily city operations to
maintain the integrity of the drainage and sewer systems. The typical service life for a
drainage and sewerline truck is fifteen years or 125,000 miles. Public Works currently
uses a seventeen-year-old truck that will be surplussed after delivery of the new vehicle.
The current truck needs to be replaced because it exceeds the mileage, age, and
expected maintenance cost criteria.
Request for Proposal #2025-033 was released on July 3, 2025. It was advertised in the
Everett Herald. Additionally, fourteen (14) companies were directly notified about the
opportunity. On August 12, 2025, one proposal was received from CUES, Inc. CUES’
proposal response received a score of 361 out of 400 possible points. Therefore, staff is
requesting award to CUES, Inc as it provides the best overall value and can meet city
requirements.
Recommendation (exact action requested of Council):
Award and authorize the Mayor to sign the Purchase Agreement for request for
proposal #2025-033 Drainage and Sewerline Camera Truck with CUES, Inc. not to exceed
$744,313.67, which includes Washington state sales tax.
