City of Everett 01 11 00 - 12
Port Gardner Storage Facility – Facility Construction Package WO# UP-3525

01 11 00 - 12 SUMMARY OF WORK
Category 2: Sensitive information
Category 2: For official use only / disclosure permissible by law.
d) Installation of new 24-inch diameter pipe within the structure, to
connect two of the existing chambers.
1. Installing an orifice plate on the northern side of the new 24-
inch diameter pipe.
3) Electrical
a) Power for five electric actuators for the Area 50 slide gates.
4) Instrumentation and Controls
a) Integration of slide gate actuators into the site control system.

11. Area 55 Secondary Combined Sewer Storage
a. Area 55 Secondary Combined Sewer Storage will serve as a
temporary storage basin for combined sewer flows. When the volume
of flow routed to the site exceeds the capacity of Area 30 Primary
Storage, flow will be diverted to the Area 50 Distribution Structure, then
to Area 55 Secondary Storage. Modifications need to convert the
existing secondary clarifier into the Area 55 Secondary Storage
structure includes work from structural, process mechanical, electrical,
and instrumentation and controls disciplines.
1) Structural
a) Installation of two sets of stairways and platforms along the
external structure of the basin to provide access to a water
cannon for basin washdown (see process mechanical
improvements).
2) Process Mechanical
a) Routing and installation of 4-inch diameter process water piping
for conveyance of plant water (2W) to water cannons (item 2).
b) Installation of three pedestal mounted pressurized water
cannons around the perimeter of the Area 55 basin.
3) Electrical
a) Routing power for proposed instrumentation.
4) Instrumentation and Controls
a) Installation and integration of the following Area 55
instrumentation types into the site control system.
1. Radar level
2. Level float switches
