Opening is scheduled for Sept. 10th.The following list deals with items I am aware of and probably does not contain everything. I'm expecting any of you who know of additional things that need doing to chime in. I have inserted Corey's (Traffic Department) information to the end of this email to help with the explanation of his involvement • Street signage.The City will perform this work.We are making preparations to have this accomplished by opening. • Asphalt wedges and tubular markers(24"orange). Polygon will do this work needed in the street area that does not have the final lift of asphalt. Our traffic Department has marked up the design plans to show where and how this is to be done.See the attached drawings • Striping/pavement marking.The City will do this within the area of the street where the final lift of asphalt has been done.This will include some street cleaning. • Striping/pavement marking where the final lift of asphalt has not been installed.This will be polygon's responsibility. However,the City has completed the preliminary markings for this work. Additional,The City has on order at this time,the necessary fish-hook arrows for this work. Polygon could arrange procurement of these from the City in order to minimize order time for Polygon. • Fencing. I'll let Mark Sadler weigh in on this aspect. My understanding is that the City will perform the majority of this work including getting a fencing contractor to install a new top and repairs to fencing. • Landscaping in roundabout. Polygon has expressed interest in doing some dress-up shrubbery within the circle. This has a beatification benefic as well as traffic control improvement because it will block line-of—sight across the roundabout to prevent incorrect assumptions by motorist entering the roundabout. Polygon will present a landscaping proposal for City approval. Corey's comments: "Here are the plans we worked up for the pavement marking and asphalt wedges needed to open the 415Y Roundabout to traffic. Pavement marking is laid out in the field, modifications to the original plan are shown in red: My proposal is to close the sidewalk on the west side of Riverfront Blvd because there are gaps to the east approaching the structure. We would not stripe any crosswalks at the inactive intersection between the roundabout and the structure, nor would we install any asphalt wedges. Once the sidewalk on the west side is complete end to end all the way to the Simpson Pad (Overlook at Riverfront?),then the sidewalk could be opened. For the catch basins where there is 4" sticking out past the curb reveal,there are drainage scuppers that cannot be blocked so I propose tubular markers instead of HMA wedges. The wedges will be too small to stay very long with all the big trucks anyway. Any questions let me know."
