RRFB PEDESTRIAN SAFETY October 31, 2025 <br />STATE FUND # HLP-PB25(004) <br />WO 3807 <br />Page 60 of 82 <br />1 <br />2 All excavations in roadway areas shall be backfilled and patched with temporary <br />3 asphalt at the end of each workday unless permission is granted to do otherwise by <br />4 the Engineer. All temporary patches shall be permanently patched within two weeks <br />5 of completion of work within the roadway area. Where unsuitable material is <br />6 encountered, as determined by the Engineer, where settlement of subgrade has <br />7 occurred, the unsuitable material shall be removed and the excavation shall be <br />8 backfilled with Quarry Spalls or Gravel Borrow, as directed by the Engineer, and <br />9 thoroughly compacted. <br />10 <br />11 Care shall be taken to avoid damage to existing sprinkler systems and/or landscaped <br />12 areas. Damage to sprinkler systems shall be repaired with the appropriate equipment <br />13 and left operable. Final payment to the Contractor shall be withheld until the systems <br />14 are repaired to the owner’s satisfaction and landscaping restored. <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 KEL 8-20.3(5) Conduit.RTF <br />18 8-20.3(5) Conduit <br />19 <br />20 Section 8-20.3(5) is supplemented with the following: <br />21 <br />22 (******) <br />23 <br />24 One-eighth inch diameter nylon pull cords or approved equal shall be installed with all <br />25 conduits. The pull cords shall be tied off at both ends. Payment for the pull cords shall be <br />26 incidental to the conduit pay item. Pull cords shall have a minimum pull strength of 200 <br />27 pounds. <br />28 <br />29 Equipment grounding conductor shall be installed with all new conduits, in accordance <br />30 with standard specification 8-20.3(9). <br />31 <br />32 It is the intent that conduit for roadway crossings shall be placed under existing pavement <br />33 by approved directional boring, jacking or drilling methods. The City will consider requests <br />34 for open cutting on a case by case basis. Other than traffic control labor, all labor, material, <br />35 tools and equipment necessary to construct the trench, install the conduit and restore the <br />36 pavement are incidental and considered part of the payment for the particular bid item. <br />37 <br />38 All empty conduit and duct openings shall be capped or plugged by the Contractor. <br />39 <br />40 Payment for the above work shall be included in the Contract Prices of other items listed <br />41 in this Contract. <br />42 <br />43 <br />44 COE 8-20.3(6) ADJUST JUNCTION BOX.RTF <br />45 8-20.3(6) Junction Boxes, Cable Vaults, and Pull boxes <br />46 <br />47 Section 8-20.3(6) is supplemented with the following: <br />48
