January 7, 2026 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., January 7, 2026, <br />by President Schwab. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Zarlingo, Burbano, Tuohy, <br />Weir, Rhyne, Bader and President Schwab were present. <br /> <br />Council Member Tuohy led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Council Member Zarlingo recited the land acknowledgement. <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin invited Judge Remy Leonard to administer oaths of office for Mayor and elected <br />Council Members. <br /> <br /> <br />OATHS OF OFFICE <br /> <br />Judge Remy Leonard administered the Ceremonial Oath of Office for: <br /> <br />• Mayor Cassie Franklin <br />• Councilmember Erica Weir, Position 1 <br />• Councilmember Paula Rhyne, Position 2 <br />• Councilmember Don Schwab, Position 3 <br />• Councilmember Luis Burbano, Position 4 <br />• Councilmember Ben Zarlingo, Position 5 <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin congratulated elected judges and Council members and advised that she is <br />appointing Deputy Chief Robert Goez to the position of Chief of Police. She invited Deputy Chief <br />Goetz to be sworn in. <br /> <br />The Deputy City Clerk administered the Chief of Police Oath of Office to Robert Goetz. <br /> <br />Chief Goetz provided comments. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
