• <br /> assembly, hotels, lodging houses, public apartment houses, or <br /> public rooming houses which have more than six rooms above the <br /> ground floor, shall swing outward. Entrance stair halls, if depth <br /> is the same, which do not exceed 15 feet, shall be at least as wide <br /> as the stairs, or the aggregate width of the same, if more than one <br /> flight leads from the same entrance hall, and six inches shall be <br /> added to the width of said entrance halal for each 10 feet or frac- <br /> tion thereof, of depth in excess of 15 feet. All entrance halls <br /> leading to stairways shall be as short and direct as possible from <br /> stairs to public street, alley or way. Provided, that any person <br /> using any building in the city of Everett, or causing the same to be <br /> used for such purpose or purposes at the time of the taking effect <br /> of this ordinance, shall have ninety days from and after the taking <br /> effect of this ordinance to make such building conform to the speci- <br /> fications as herein provided. <br /> Section 4: That said Ordinance No . 1260 be amended by add- <br /> ing thereto a section to be designated as Section 178. Said section <br /> shall read as follows: <br /> DRY CLEANING. <br /> Section •178 (a) Dry cleaning shall be known as the art or <br /> process of cleaning or renovating wearing or other apparel, clothes, <br /> and other fabrics and textiles, or any other things, with any in- <br /> flammable liquid. <br /> (b) It shall be unlawful to maintain any dry cleaning es- <br /> tablishment:, or to engage in the business of dry cleaning in any <br /> building except in "Class An buildings, as defined by this ordinance; <br /> provided, that this section shall not apply to buildings where the <br /> business of dry cleaning is conducted at the time of the taking <br /> effect of this ordinance. <br /> Section 5: This ordinance shall take effect upon its <br /> passage and publication. <br /> . ,r/.rL . <br /> rr <br /> Passed 29 I t g mayor. <br /> Attest a-c-<—(-V <br /> 40 <br /> City Cle . <br /> Published DEC 31 1914 <br />
