January 14, 2026 <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., January 14, 2026, <br />by President Schwab. <br /> <br />Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor Franklin and Council Members Zarlingo, Burbano, Tuohy, <br />Bader, Rhyne and President Schwab were present. Council Member Weir was excused. <br /> <br />Council Member Bader led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Council Member Rhyne recited the land acknowledgement. <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin introduced Police Chief Goetz to introduce eight new officers. <br /> <br />OATH OF OFFICE – POLICE OFFICERS <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Zarlingo, to concur with the <br />appointments of Ashley Blum, Joshua Elecfi, Jonathan Green, Daniel Haggerty, Troy Hirschkorn, <br />Jose Miranda-Chacon, Alaina Perry, and Han Xia as new police officers. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Member Weir who was <br />excused. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />The Deputy City Clerk administered the oath of office and Mayor Franklin pinned the officers with <br />their badges. <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Franklin also advised that Utility Billing and Permitting are both now open at the Everett <br />Municipal Building and congratulated the new officers. <br /> <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Zarlingo, to concur with the <br />following appointments: <br />
