r ► , <br /> ORDINANCE; NO. <br /> An ordinance relating to the washing, general cleaning <br /> and flushing with water, of sideWalks in the city of Averett, prescribing <br /> punishment for the violation thereof, and declaring an emergency. <br /> THI CITY OF .ri;VARRTT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: It shall be unlawful for any person to wash or <br /> flush with a hose any sidewalk in said city, or to cast or throw, or <br /> permit to flow upon premises owned, occupied or controlled by him, water <br /> upon or across any sidewalk in said city, or to generally clean any <br /> sidewalk in such manner as to be disagreeable to persons using the same; <br /> provided, however, that persons may wash, generally clean, and flush <br /> sidewalks with water prior to the hour of 8 o'clock A.M. during the <br /> months from October first to April first, and prior to 7.30 o'clock A.M. <br /> during the months from April first to October first. <br /> Section 2: Any person convicted of a violation of any of <br /> the provisions of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not <br /> more- than one hundred ( 100) dollars, or by imprisonment for a period <br /> not exceeding thirty (30) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. <br /> Section 3: An emergency is declared to exist, and this <br /> ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication. <br /> Mayor. <br /> Passed APR 14 1914 <br /> Attest <br /> ty Clerk. <br /> Published APR 16 1914 <br />
