4.11111111111.111111 <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCA NO. \ ' <br /> An ordinance fixing the salaries and compensation to be <br /> paid to the several officers of the city of Aver. ett, and their <br /> assistants and employees of said city, repealing Ordinances numbers <br /> 826, 1482, 1540 and 1542, and declaring an emergency. <br /> THX CITY OF r''Vi R TT DOSS ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That from and after February 1st, 1914, the <br /> salaries and compensation to be paid to the officers and employees <br /> of the city of Averett herein named, shall be as in this ordinance <br /> provided. <br /> Section 2: Secretary to the mayor, sixty dollars per <br /> month; stenographer to the commissioners, seventy-five dollars per <br /> month; city hall janitor, seventy dollars per month; bridge tenders, <br /> eighty dollars per month each; garbage scow tender, seventy dollars <br /> per month. <br /> Section 3: City attorney, one hundred seventy-five dollars <br /> per month; clerk, seventy dollars per month. In addition to the above <br /> salary, the city attorney shall be allowed the sum of twenty <br /> dollars per month for office rent. <br /> Section 4: City clerk, one hundred fifty dollars per month; <br /> deputy city clerk, eighty-three and one-third dollars per month; <br /> stenographer, seventy-five dollars per month. <br /> Section 5: City treasurer, one hundred fifty dollars per <br /> month, deputy treasurer, one hundred dollars per month; assistant <br /> deputy treasurer, seventy-two and one-half dollars per month; stenog- <br /> rapher, seventy-two and one-half dollars per month; assistant <br /> stenographer, sixty dollars per month. <br /> Section 6: Chief of police, one hundred fifty dollars per <br /> month; two sergeants, ninety dollars per month each; one jailer, <br /> eighty-five dollars per month; eleven patrolmen, eighty-five dollars <br />
