. - - "7"111F <br /> ORDINANC.n <br /> An ordinance relating to the running of bicycles, tricycl- <br /> es , motorcycles and other motor vehicles on sidewalks, providing a <br /> penalty for the violation thereof, and repealing Ordinances numbers <br /> 211, 267, 356, 423, 484, 641, 969, and 1012, and declaring an <br /> emergency. <br /> TH.& CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: It shall be unlawful to ride any motorcycle <br /> or other motor vehicle, on or along any of the sidewalks in the <br /> city of Averett, or on and along any foot path in any park in said <br /> city. <br /> Section 2: It shall be unlawful to ride any bicycle or <br /> tricycle on and along any sidewalk on any paved street in the city of <br /> Averett, or on and along any sidewalk on any street where said street <br /> can be used for riding such bicycle or tricycle, and no person shall <br /> ride a bicycle or tricycle upon and along the sidewalk on any un- <br /> paved street at a greater rate of speed than six miles per hour. <br /> Section 3: Any person violating the provisions of this <br /> ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon convic- <br /> tion thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding one hundred <br /> ( 100) dollars, or be imprisoned in the city jail not exceeding <br /> thirty (30) days. <br /> Section 4: Ordinances numbered 211, 267, 356, 423, 484, <br /> 641, 989, and 1012 are hereby repealed. <br /> Section 5: An emergency is declared to exist, and this <br /> ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication. <br /> Passed FEB 24 1914 <br /> Attest <br /> ty Clerk. <br /> Published FEB 2 1914 <br />
