6

ARTICLE 3 - PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS
Upon receipt of a written and signed form from the employee authorizing payroll deduction, the City shall each
month deduct Union dues and assessments from the employee's wages in the manner prescribed by law. The
amount so deducted shall be mailed each month to the Union.

Payroll deduction errors shall be adjusted within thirty (30) days after they become known and the Union, any
employee or the City shall refund to the other any amounts paid, received or incorrectly withheld in error.

The City shall be held harmless from any and all claims by the Union or the employees against the City which
may arise of the City’s compliance with this Article and/or Article 2 (Recognition), unless such claim is based
upon an error by the City. An employee may revoke authorization for payroll deduction of payments to the Union
by written notice to the City. The City will cease the dues deduction the next scheduled pay period following the
notice of revocation of authorization. The City shall notify the Union within 15 working days when it receives
notice of revocation.
