Section 40: No vehicle shall remain standing upon any <br /> street at a greater distance than one (1) foot from, the curb, or <br /> in any other position than parallel to the curb and facing in the <br /> direction of traffic , and in no case within thirty-four (34) feet <br /> of any fire hydrant, or within ten (10) feet of any street corner <br /> or street intersection. <br /> Section 41: No person shall loat ,or unload any vehicle <br /> used for conveying merchandise or other personal property, in any <br /> street or avenue of the city of Everett, when it is possible to <br /> load or unload the same in an alley; provided however, that within <br /> a certain district bounded on the north by the Great .':_Torthern Rail- <br /> way Company' s right-of-way, on the east by the west line of <br /> McDougall Avenue , on the south by the north line of Section 29, <br /> Township 29 North, Range 5 East, W.M. and on the west by the east <br /> line of Lombard Avenue, any owner or occupant of any store or build- <br /> ing, and their agents or, servants , may use not to exceed six (6) <br /> feet of the sidewalk on either side of Hewitt Avenue lying next to <br /> the curb line for the purpose of loading, unloading, and otherwise <br /> handling ,floods , wares and merchandise in the ordinary course of <br /> business; provided further, that in using said portions of said <br /> sidewalk said owners or occupants , and their agents or servants, <br /> shall not unreasonably delay the removal of said goods , wares and <br /> merchandise from such portions of said sidewalk. <br /> Section 42: Drivers of vehicles and street cars , pedes- <br /> trians and equestrians must at all times comply with any direction <br /> by voice or hand of any member of the traffic squad of the police <br /> department, as to the manner of taking up or setting down passengers <br /> or unloading or loading goods in any place, and as to stopping, <br /> starting, approaching and departing from any place. <br /> Section 43 : The police department have all powers <br /> and duties in relation to the management of vehicular traffic. <br /> r <br /> ' ' H' �� �'*# r £y 4 441j.. e F k f t e <br />
