Practical Shooting Reconstruction Course <br />Hosting Requirements <br /> <br />Facilities: <br />The host must provide a classroom with a PowerPoint projector that can seat at least 25 students. An <br />area where 4-5 mock scenes can be established is also needed. The host must provide an outdoor firing <br />range where a car can be staged and fired upon. (Normal range day is the third day of the course, but <br />flexibility is recommended in the event of inclement weather.) The host must also provide a range <br />officer or other firearms qualified individual to shoot the targets. <br />Supplies: <br />1. Eye and ear protection for up to 25 students on range <br />2. Substrates: <br />a. Junker car with intact tires and glass – body panels must be sheet metal (not plastic IE. <br />Saturn, Pontiac Fiero) <br />b. Sheetrock (Two Sheets- ½” by 4’by 8’) <br /> i. One Sheet cut into Eight 2’ by 2’ squares <br /> ii. One Sheet Cut into One 4’ by 4’ Square and Four 2’ by 2’ Squares <br />c. Plywood (One Sheet- ¼” by 4’ by 8’) <br /> i. One Sheet cut into Eight 2’ by 2’ squares <br />d. Standard cinderblock <br />e. Glass <br /> i. 2’ X 3’ (or larger) plate glass <br /> ii. 2’ X 3’ (or larger) plexiglass <br />f. Old clothing (Preferably white t-shirts and blue jeans) <br />g. Flesh analog: Ballistic Gelatin (6” x 6” x 16” or larger) MUST BE COMMECIALLY SOURCED <br />– NOT HOMEMADE <br /> <br />3. Firearms <br />a. 9mm Pistol <br />b. .38 cal. Revolver <br />c. .223 cal. or 5.56mm Rifle <br />d. 30 cal. Rifle (i.e. 7.62 X 39, 7.62 X51, etc.) <br />e. 12 ga. Shotgun <br />4. Ammunition <br />a. 9mm Round Nose FMJ (50 rds.) <br />b. 9mm Hollow Point (20 rds.) <br />c. .38 Hollow Point (20 rds.) <br />d. Rifle Ammo to fit above rifles (20 rds. Each type) <br />e. 12 ga. Slugs, Birdshot, Buckshot (10 rds. Each type) <br />
