An ordinance amending Section 18 of Ordinance No. 1439 of the city of Everett, entitled "An ordinance relating to the making of local improvements to be paid for in whole or in part directly or indirectly by assessments on lots or parcels of landrbenefited by such improvement, providing for the establishing of local improvement districts for the purpose of paying therefor, prescrib- ing the mode in which the charge upon the respective lots and }parcels of land shall be assessed, and repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, and Ieclaring an emergency" , and declaring an emergency. THE CITY or EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That Section 18 of Ordinance No. 1439 of the city of Everett, entitled as above set forth, be , and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 18: LOCAL IIPROVEMANT CONTRACTS: During the time allowed in any contract for the completion of any work the Commies» loner of Public Works shall, when requested in writing by the con- tractor, at the end of any month during which said request has been made, issue an estimate of the work completed during such month, or completed and for which no estimate has been issued, and upon the completion of the work said commissioner shall issue a final estimate of such work; such estimate shall be filed with the City Clerk and he shall certify the same to the City Council. Said Clerk when requested by the contractor, shall issue to. such contractor an assignment form showing the amount of work completed as shown by such estimates. Said final estimate issued shall include in addition to a statement of the amount of money due the contractor, a state- ment of the amount of money expended for abstracts, advertising and engineering expenses prior to the date set for the completion of the contract.
