•• I e 1 <br /> ORDINANC.t NO. j J2P. <br /> An ordinance amending Section 18 of Ordinance No. 1439 of <br /> the city of Everett, entitled "An ordinance relating to the making <br /> of local improvements to be paid for in whole or in part directly <br /> or indirectly by assessments on lots or parcels of landrbenefited <br /> by such improvement, providing for the establishing of local <br /> improvement districts for the purpose of paying therefor, prescrib- <br /> ing the mode in which the charge upon the respective lots and <br /> }parcels of land shall be assessed, and repealing all ordinances <br /> and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, and Ieclaring an <br /> emergency" , and declaring an emergency. <br /> THE CITY or EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That Section 18 of Ordinance No. 1439 of the <br /> city of Everett, entitled as above set forth, be , and the same is <br /> hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Section 18: LOCAL IIPROVEMANT CONTRACTS: During the time <br /> allowed in any contract for the completion of any work the Commies» <br /> loner of Public Works shall, when requested in writing by the con- <br /> tractor, at the end of any month during which said request has been <br /> made, issue an estimate of the work completed during such month, or <br /> completed and for which no estimate has been issued, and upon the <br /> completion of the work said commissioner shall issue a final <br /> estimate of such work; such estimate shall be filed with the City <br /> Clerk and he shall certify the same to the City Council. Said Clerk <br /> when requested by the contractor, shall issue to. such contractor <br /> an assignment form showing the amount of work completed as shown by <br /> such estimates. Said final estimate issued shall include in addition <br /> to a statement of the amount of money due the contractor, a state- <br /> ment of the amount of money expended for abstracts, advertising and <br /> engineering expenses prior to the date set for the completion of <br /> the contract. All engineering expenses incurred after said date <br />
