The claims team confirmed through OUSD that no document maintenance records existed for the <br />subject tree. <br />Based on the nature of the events and the investigation by the team, this was viewed as a case of proable <br />liability, although weather was also deemed a factor. Our claims team made early contact with the <br />claimant and worked with her for close to a year, maintaining rapport and preventing attorney <br />involvement. The team was able to obtain a signed medical authorization from the claimant and took <br />steps to secure all related medical records including medical billings from her medical providers. <br />Total related medical billings were in excess of $30,000. The claimant’s initial settlement demand was <br />$300,000, but the claims team was able to negotiate and the claim was settled for $50,000. Early <br />engagement and continued communication with the claimant dissuaded her from seeking counsel, which <br />would have made this claim a much bigger case with potential for litigation. <br />Intercare believes that customer service and customer satisfaction is paramount to our programs’ success. <br />We have built our reputation on the successful handling of claims programs for a wide variety of <br />customers.
