City of Everett 01 1100 - 5 <br />2026 Biosolids Removal and Disposal UT 3752-30 <br />01 1100 - 5 SUMMARY OF WORK <br />D.Centrate Return and Effects on Wastewater Treatment <br />1.Contractor shall return Biosolids centrate to the wastewater treatment <br />process stream to the east of the biosolids pad into the Recirculation <br />Channel (see Appendix A). <br />2.Contractor shall monitor and minimize any scum mat, foaming or other <br />effects from dewatering chemical side-streams. Scum mats that form at the <br />Recirculation Pump Station or the Aeration Cells in excess of 100 square <br />feet in surface area shall be the responsibility of Contractor to collect and <br />dispose of in dumpster(s) provided by the City for this purpose. Any costs <br />of controlling, adjusting, or remediating effects of dewatering side-streams <br />shall be incidental to the costs of dredging and dewatering. <br />1.8 BIOSOLIDS WEIGHING AND TRANSPORTATION <br />A.Transportation <br />1.The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and appurtenances <br />necessary to perform and support the loading, transportation, and disposal <br />of the biosolids from the dewatering operations staging area to an <br />approved solid waste facility. <br />a.Any loading, transportation, and temporary staging work on the <br />Biosolids Pad shall be incidental to the unit price bid for Dry Tons <br />Biosolids Removed, Dewatering, and Placed on the Biosolids Pad. <br />b.Any loading, transportation, and disposal work to an approved solids <br />waste facility shall be incidental to the unit price bid for Dry Tons <br />Biosolids Transported & Disposed of at Approved Site. <br />2.Trucks shall be thoroughly cleaned after dumping the material with minimal <br />solids left in the truck from the previous load. It shall be the Contractor’s <br />responsibility to clean up any biosolids on a daily basis that are deposited <br />on the Pad between the dewatering staging area, the storage area, and the <br />scale. <br />3.Solids shall be hauled offsite during dredging operations so that no more <br />than 2,000 dry tons are stored onsite at any time. <br />B.Safety & Spills <br />1.Drivers must have current licenses for the vehicles they operate and <br />suitable for the material hauled. <br />2.Trailers shall be covered and all truck beds sealed to prevent escape of <br />solids or liquids. Covers shall be maintained in good repair. <br />3.Truck and trailer tires must be washed at the City provided wash station <br />prior to leaving the Biosolids Pad to minimize tracking or dropping biosolids <br />onto the roadways.
