• ORDINANCE i•i 0.�� , An ordinance regulating and prohibiting the sale of news- papers , magazines' and periodicals on the streets and other public places of Everett by minors under sixteen (16) years of age, provid- ing a penalty for the violation thereof, and declaring an emergency. THE CITY OP J VERETT DOTES ORDAIN: Section 1: It shall be unlawful for any minor under sixteen years of age to sell any newspapers, magazines or period- icals on the streets or other public places in Everett without first obtaining a permit from the commissioner of safety. /. Section 2: No permit to sell newspapers, magazines or periodicals on the' streets or other public places of Everett shall ever be granted to any minor under ten (10) years of age. Section 3: Any minor under sixteen (16) years of age desiring to sell newspapers , magazines or other periodicals on the streets or other public places in Everett shall make an application therefor to the commissioner of safety, and the commissioner of safety shall , if in his judgment such applicant is entitled to such permit, grant a permit to such applicant. Section 4: The commissioner of safety shall, upon grant- ing such --ermit to any minor, furnish to said minor a badge showing the number of his permit, and said badge shall be conspicuously worn by said minor when he is engaged in selling newspapers, magazines or other periodicals. Section 5: It shall be unlawful for any minor under sixteen (16) years of age and over ten (10) years of age, with or without a permit, to sell newspapers, magazines , or other periodicals within fifty (50) feet of any railway or railroad station in Everett, and it shall be unlawful for such minor while engaged in selling newspap- ers , magazines or other periodicals, to get on or attempt to get on, or to get off or attempt to get off a street car or railway car while the same is in motion.
