(: <br /> An ordinance relating to and regulating the sale or <br /> other disposition of pistols, guns, or other fire arms in the city <br /> of Everett, and requiring a report of such sales or other disposi- <br /> tion of the same to be filed With the commissioner of safety, <br /> prOV ,4ing a penalty' for the violation thereof, and declaring an <br /> emergency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section l:That every merchant or second-hand dealer in the city of <br /> Everett and every employee of ariy merchant or second-hand dealer <br /> who sells , gives away or disposes of any pistol, gun or other fire <br /> arm to any person at retail shall keep a record of such sale or dis- <br /> position in a book to be kept for that purpose. Said record shall <br /> show the name and address of the person to whom such gun, pistol <br /> or other fire arm was so sold, given away or disposed of, and the <br /> ,> date of such sale, gift or disposition, the caliber, number, and <br /> name of the manufacturer of such gun, pistol or other fire arm, and <br /> any such merchant or second-hand dealer, or employee, shall require <br /> the person to whom such pistol, gun or other fire arm is sold, given <br /> away or disposed of to sign his name in ink in such book opposite <br /> the record of such transaction. The coi_missioner of safety or any <br /> Public officer of the city of Everett shall have the right at any <br /> reasonable time to inspect said record. <br /> Section 2: Every such merchant or second-hand dealer shall, within <br /> twenty-four hours after the sale or disposition of any pistol, gyn <br /> or other fire arm, file a report of such sale or other disposition <br /> with the commissioner of safety, and said report shall contain a <br /> complete copy of the record required to be kept in Section 1, and <br /> shall contain such additional information as the commissioner of <br /> safety shall require. <br /> Section 3: Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance <br /> shall be deemed guilty of a Amisdemeanor,and upon conviction there- <br /> of shall be fined in any sum not exceeding one hundred ( $100) <br />
