(: An ordinance relating to and regulating the sale or other disposition of pistols, guns, or other fire arms in the city of Everett, and requiring a report of such sales or other disposi- tion of the same to be filed With the commissioner of safety, prOV ,4ing a penalty' for the violation thereof, and declaring an emergency. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section l:That every merchant or second-hand dealer in the city of Everett and every employee of ariy merchant or second-hand dealer who sells , gives away or disposes of any pistol, gun or other fire arm to any person at retail shall keep a record of such sale or dis- position in a book to be kept for that purpose. Said record shall show the name and address of the person to whom such gun, pistol or other fire arm was so sold, given away or disposed of, and the ,> date of such sale, gift or disposition, the caliber, number, and name of the manufacturer of such gun, pistol or other fire arm, and any such merchant or second-hand dealer, or employee, shall require the person to whom such pistol, gun or other fire arm is sold, given away or disposed of to sign his name in ink in such book opposite the record of such transaction. The coi_missioner of safety or any Public officer of the city of Everett shall have the right at any reasonable time to inspect said record. Section 2: Every such merchant or second-hand dealer shall, within twenty-four hours after the sale or disposition of any pistol, gyn or other fire arm, file a report of such sale or other disposition with the commissioner of safety, and said report shall contain a complete copy of the record required to be kept in Section 1, and shall contain such additional information as the commissioner of safety shall require. Section 3: Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a Amisdemeanor,and upon conviction there- of shall be fined in any sum not exceeding one hundred ( $100)
