June 17, 2026 <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE creating a Special Improvement Project, entitled “California Street <br />Ped/Bike Corridor Phase 2,” Fund 303, Program 140, to accumulate all costs for the <br />improvement <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Bader, seconded by Council Member Tuohy, that this is declared to <br />be the third and final reading of Council Bill 2605-30. <br /> <br />The Deputy City Clerk was directed to call roll for the final disposition of the ordinance. <br /> <br />AYES: Zarlingo, Burbano, Tuohy, Weir, Bader, Schwab <br /> NAYES: None <br /> ABSENT: Rhyne <br /> <br /> <br /> Ordinance 4186-26 adopted. <br /> <br />PROPOSAL – CHARTER REVIEW AMENDMENTS <br /> <br />President Schwab stated the Council met as a committee of the whole to discuss the proposed <br />Charter Review amendments, as presented last week by the Charter Review Committee. <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Bader, seconded by Council Member Zarlingo, to combine Proposal <br />4, an amendment to Charter Section 4.10 requiring elected officials to take an oath of office, <br />with Proposal 1, relating to eligibility requirements for elected office; and to combine Proposal <br />3, relating to website noticing for codes and ordinances, with Proposal 8, relating to website <br />noticing for a variety of sections throughout the charter. <br /> <br />Moved by Council Member Tuohy, seconded by Council Member Weir to add proposal number <br />9, adding section 2.9, limiting Council Members and the Mayor to three consecutive full terms. <br /> <br />President Schwab clarified that these proposed items would be included in the upcoming <br />proposed ordinance staff will be bringing to Council next week. <br /> <br /> <br />Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Member Rhyne who was <br />excused. <br /> <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />The City Council meeting adjourned at 7:21 p.m. <br />
