persons listed as the assignee on the assignment form appearing on the surrendered Bond, in <br /> exchange for such surrendered and canceled Bond. Any Bond may be surrendered to the <br /> Registrar and exchanged, without charge, for an equal aggregate principal amount of Bonds of <br /> the same date, Maturity Date and Interest Rate, in any Authorized Denomination. Other than in <br /> connection with an optional or mandatory tender for purchase, the Registrar shall not be <br /> obligated to transfer or exchange any Bond during the five-day period prior to the selection of <br /> Bonds for redemption or the Maturity Date or following any publication of notice of redemption. <br /> No charge shall be imposed upon Registered Owners in connection with any transfer or <br /> exchange, except for taxes or governmental charges related thereto. <br /> (g) Registration Covenant. The City covenants that, until all Bonds have been <br /> surrendered and canceled, it will maintain a system for recording the ownership of each Bond <br /> that complies with the provisions of Section 149 of the Code. <br /> Section 2.06. Mutilated, Destroyed, Lost or Stolen Bonds. If any Bond is lost, stolen <br /> or destroyed, the City may execute and the Registrar may authenticate and deliver a new Bond or <br /> Bonds of like date and tenor to the Registered Owner thereof, all in accordance with law. <br /> However, no substitution or payment shall be made unless and until the applicant shall furnish <br /> (a) evidence satisfactory to said Registrar and Finance Director-Treasurer of the destruction or <br /> loss of the original Bond and of the ownership thereof, and (b) such additional security, <br /> indemnity or evidence as may be required by the Council. No substitute Bond shall be furnished <br /> unless the applicant shall reimburse the City and the Registrar for their respective expenses in the <br /> furnishing thereof. Any such substitute Bond so furnished shall be equally and proportionately <br /> entitled to the security of this ordinance with all other Bonds issued hereunder. <br /> -21- P\CMW\CMW4ZL 11/20/01 <br />
