410i <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2584-02 <br /> AN ORDINANCE establishing the minimum sizes <br /> of numbers and letters designating the addresses on <br /> buildings, and repealing Ordinance No. 215, <br /> Section 6. <br /> WHEREAS, the existing Everett Municipal Code cites specific requirements regarding <br /> the size of figures to be posted on buildings to establish the identity of the building; and <br /> WHEREAS, the distance of some buildings from the public right-of-way impairs the <br /> reasonable discernment of address figures; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Fire Marshal has determined that the size of address and identity <br /> figures specified in the existing code are too small in many situations to allow emergency <br /> response personnel to properly identify certain buildings; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the required sizes of address and identity figures <br /> should be enlarged for certain buildings, based on their distance from the road right-of- <br /> way; and <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: <br /> The City Fire Marshal shall establish guidelines and rules, regulations, and procedures for <br /> the size, character, and placement of address and identity numbers and figures for all <br /> dwellings, commercial buildings, industries, and other buildings erected after the <br /> effective date of this ordinance. <br /> Section 2: <br /> Therefore the following table shall be used in part, as a guideline in determining the size <br /> of the address and identity figures: <br /> Table 3-1 Address Numbering Figure Size Table <br /> DISTANCE FROM ROAD <br /> OR FIRE LANE MINIMUM FIGURE SIZE <br /> A. 0-50 feet 3" H x 1.5" W <br /> B. 51-100 feet 6" Hx3" W <br /> C. 101-150 feet 8"Hx4" W <br /> D. 151-200 feet 10" H x 5" W <br />
