ORDINANCE NO. 2592-02 <br /> AN ORDINANCE providing for the conversion of Hoyt Avenue, <br /> Wetmore Avenue and California Street to two-way streets and amending <br /> Ordinance No. 460-77 as amended by Ordinance No. 1321-87 (EMC 46.36.010) <br /> WHEREAS, by the adoption of Resolution No. 5001, the City Council authorized the initiation <br /> of public involvement and the development of an implementation plan for the conversion of the <br /> one-way streets of Hoyt Avenue, Wetmore Avenue and California Street to two-way streets; and <br /> WHEREAS, the public involvement and the development of an implementation plan has <br /> occurred and the City is now ready to proceed with the conversion of these streets to two-way <br /> streets; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this action of the City Council is taken following an <br /> engineering and traffic investigation by the City's Traffic Engineer; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that these streets shall be converted to two-way streets as <br /> provided herein; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Wall Street from Oakes Avenue to Rucker Avenue has <br /> been previously converted from one-way to two-way and, as such, should be removed from the <br /> one-way designations set forth in EMC 46.16.010; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Hoyt Avenue from 37th Street to 32nd Street has been <br /> previously converted from one-way to two-way and, as such, should be removed from the one- <br /> way designations set forth in EMC 46.16.010; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that California Street from Oakes Avenue to Rockefeller <br /> Avenue was authorized for change to one-way but has not been previously converted to one-way <br /> and, as such, should be removed from the one-way designations set forth in EMC 46.16.010; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> SECTION 1: That Section 7 of Ordinance No. 460-77 as amended by Ordinance No. 1321-87 <br /> (EMC 46.16.010) which reads as follows: <br /> 46.16.010 Designated. <br /> The following streets in the city are designated for vehicular travel in one direction, commonly <br /> referred to as one-way streets, for use for one-way traffic as follows: <br /> One Way Streets <br />
