WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has considered all of the proposed Comprehensive Plan Map designation and Policy amendments as well as implementing rezones, so that the cumulative effects of all amendments have been fully ascertained, as required by the Growth Management Act; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended to the City Council the approval of various amendments to the text and policies of the Everett Comprehensive Plan, as well as amendments to the Comprehensive Plan map designations and the rezoning of specific properties to implement the Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the City Council held a Public Hearing to consider the recommendations of the Planning Commission concerning various amendments to the text and policies of the Everett Comprehensive Plan, as well as amendments to the Land Use Map and the rezoning of specific properties to implement the Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted an ordinance amending the Comprehensive Plan land use designation of the area affected by this rezone action; and WHEREAS, the Growth Management Act requires that the City's Zoning Map be consistent with and implement the Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the rezoning of the specific properties described herein: 1. Is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan map designations of the Everett Comprehensive Plan; 2. Bears a substantial relation to the public health, safety and welfare; and 3. Promotes the best long-term interests of the Everett community. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That property legally described as follows: The northerly portion of lot 29 0517 011 033 00, located north of 10th Street in the City of Everett, BEGINNING at the southwest corner of said lot portion, heading north 2°42'22"E for a distance of 246.57 feet, THENCE east N88° 27'58 W for a distance of 316.44 feet, THENSE south east N 54°03'08"E for a distance of 490.06 feet, ending at the POINT OF BEGINNING. According to the records of Snohomish County, situate in Section 17, T. 29 N., R. 5 E., Willamette Meridian, in the County of Snohomish, State of Washington, is hereby rezoned from R-4 (Multiple Family) to P (Public Park).
