SECTION 14. SERVICE EXTENSION AND SERVICE TO PUBLIC BUILDINGS <br /> 14.1 Service Availability <br /> (A) Tn General. <br /> Subject to the density provisions described in subsection 14.1(D), Grantee shall provide Cable <br /> Service within seven (7) days of a request by any potential Residential Subscriber within the City. <br /> For purposes of this subsection, a request shall be deemed made on the date of signing a service <br /> agreement,receipt of funds by Grantee,receipt of a written request by Grantee or receipt by Grantee <br /> of a verified verbal request. Grantee shall provide such service: <br /> (1) With no line extension charge except as specifically authorized elsewhere in <br /> this Franchise. <br /> (2) At a non-discriminatory installation charge for a standard installation, <br /> consisting of a one hundred twenty-five (125) foot aerial drop connecting to the exterior <br /> demarcation point for Residential Subscribers, with additional charges for non-standard <br /> installations computed according to a non-discriminatory methodology for such <br /> installations, adopted by Grantee and provided in writing to the City; <br /> (3) At non-discriminatory monthly rates for Residential Subscribers. <br /> (B) Non-discriminatory Service, <br /> Grantee shall not arbitrarily refuse to provide Cable Service to any Person within its Franchise <br /> Area. All Dwelling Units, Multiple Dwelling Units and commercial establishments passed by the <br /> Cable System in the Franchise Area shall have the same availability of Cable Service from <br /> Grantee's Cable System under non-discriminatory rates and reasonable terms and conditions. <br /> Notwithstanding the foregoing, Grantee may introduce new or expanded Cable Services on a <br /> geographically phased basis,where such services require an upgrade of the Cable System. <br /> (C) Service to Multiple Dwelling T Tnits <br /> The Grantee shall offer the individual units of a Multiple Dwelling Unit all Cable Services offered <br /> to other Dwelling Units in the City and shall individually wire units upon request of the property <br /> owner or renter who has been given written authorization by the owner; provided, however, that <br /> any such offering is conditioned upon the Grantee having legal access to said unit. Grantee may <br /> charge its customary installation fees in connection therewith. The City acknowledges that the <br /> Grantee cannot control the dissemination of particular Cable Services beyond the point of <br /> demarcation at a Multiple Dwelling Unit. <br /> Page 46 of 58 <br />
