EXHIBIT A - 1 <br /> associated <br /> earth sciences <br /> L, t <br /> June 10, 2016 <br /> Project No. EE160309A <br /> City of Everett <br /> 3200 Cedar Street <br /> Everett, Washington 98201 <br /> Attention: Mr. Richard Hefti <br /> Subject: Proposal for Geotechnical Engineering Services <br /> City of Everett <br /> UP No. 3646 Water Main Improvement "R" <br /> Everett, Washington <br /> Introduction and Background <br /> It is our understanding that The City of Everett plans to install new ductile iron water pipe and <br /> abandon in-place existing cast iron pipe within the City limits in south Everett along the <br /> following routes. <br /> • State Street:from 19th Street to 26th Street (length 3,300 feet) <br /> • Highland Avenue: from 20th Street to 25th Street (Length 2,340 feet) <br /> The new mains are expected to consist of approximately 5,640 lineal feet of 8-inch diameter <br /> ductile iron water main. The new alignments will be within right-of-way and easements and will <br /> have between 36 and 48-inches of cover. The construction methods are anticipated to include <br /> standard trench excavation. <br /> Scope of Services <br /> According to the Request for Proposal (RFP) dated May 27, 2016 the purpose of geotech <br /> services is to evaluate subsurface soil and groundwater conditions as a basis for providing <br /> geotechnical engineering recommendations for design and construction of the water main <br /> replacement.
