<br /> The Everett Police Department has been awarded funds from the STOP Violence Against Women Formula
<br /> Grant program since 1997. The fiscal year 2013 agreement with the State Department of Commerce
<br /> relates to use of grant program funding to improve the criminal justice and community response to
<br /> violence against women in Snohomish County. The grant funds will be used for law enforcement training
<br /> on this issue.

<br /> The WA State Military Department has been given the authority by the Department of Homeland Security
<br /> (DHS)to administer federal dollars in providing DHS Emergency Management Performance Grant
<br /> (EMPG)funds to local jurisdictions that have emergency management programs. These grants are
<br /> intended to supplement the local jurisdiction's emergency management operating budget in an effort to
<br /> enhance its program.
<br /> The City's FY13 State Homeland Security EMPG grant award was$58,338 with the requirement of a local
<br /> match satisfied by our emergency management operating budget. Council approved this contract at its
<br /> November 13,2013,Council meeting.
