Ted Budden CO ISO 6 --c9 1?
From: Cynthia Keirsey
Sent: Monday,July 27, 2015 2:27 PM
To: Ted Budden
Subject: RE: 16 Alder St "Addition to house without Permits"
Ted,
I phoned and spoke to the property owner Tim Backes. He is usually home until around noon and is willing to allow a site
inspection to verify the scope of work. He advised me that he has stopped work on the project and has an engineer
working on the plans. He said he was in and spoke to Felicia at the counter. Are you available for an AM inspection this
week? Please let me know your schedule and I will confirm the inspection time with Mr. Backes.
Cindy K
X8561
From: Ted Budden
Sent: Monday, July 20, 2015 1:58 PM
To: Cynthia Keirsey
Subject: 16 Alder St"Addition to house without Permits"
Hello Cindy,
We have a property that is out of compliance for work being conducted without required permits. Here is the story.
On June 25th 2015 we received a complaint for an "Addition to house without permits".
On June 30th I visited the site to assess the concerns. No-one answered the door and I was unable to view any
construction activity from the entry porch.
I contacted the next door neighbor to the north explaining the concerns about the alleged construction activity. The
neighbor was aware of the construction and invited us into his backyard to view the construction work being conducted
at his neighbor's property from there.
We observed a large roof structure that has been added to the rear of the main house. In addition to the roof structure
an addition of some sort is being added to the north side of the house.
Photos of the construction were taken from the neighbor's yard.
To date we have not received any permit applications or to my knowledge any contact from the owner for this
construction work.
The construction activity may include land use violations for location due to setback requirements and location adjacent
to sensitive areas.
A stop work order has been posted on the house. (Exterior entry area)
Please look into this matter for enforcement action as your schedule allows.
Photo attachments and records can be found in our CRW system. File#W1506-017
Thank you
Ted Budden
Chief Inspector
Everett Building Department
1
