1 <br /> CITY OF EVERETT PUBLIC WORKS DOCUMENT 00 72 13 <br /> 111 <br /> SPECIAL PROVISIONS GENERAL CONDITIONS <br /> a. Inspection and testing of materials or Equipment in the vicinity of the Work by the <br /> Owner is not practicable,or <br /> b. The Contractor requests the Owner to inspect and test material or Equipment at the <br /> point of manufacture,or <br /> c. The Specifications require that inspection, testing or witnessing of tests take place at <br /> the point of manufacture. <br /> 2. Costs to be paid or reimbursed by the Contractor include, but are not limited to, travel, <br /> subsistence,labor and lodging expenses of the Owner's inspector. <br /> E. Testing and Commissioning of Completed Work <br /> 1. Testing and commissioning of all mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems and <br /> completed portions of the Work, functioning as a completed system and the complete <br /> Project, functioning as a completed facility, shall be done in accordance with the <br /> Specifications. <br /> F. Storage of Materials and Equipment <br /> 1. Contractor shall store materials and Equipment so as to insure the preservation of their <br /> quality and fitness for the Work. <br /> 2. Stored Equipment and materials shall be located so as to facilitate inspection. <br /> 3. The Contractor shall be responsible for damages, loss or casualty occurring to materials and <br /> Equipment until Final Acceptance. <br /> G. Manufacturer's Directions <br /> 1. Manufactured articles, material and Equipment shall be transported, stored, applied, <br /> installed, connected, erected, adjusted, tested, operated and maintained as recommended by <br /> the manufacturer,unless otherwise specified herein. <br /> 2. Manufacturer's installation instructions and procedures shall be provided to the Owner prior <br /> to installation of the manufactured articles,material and Equipment. ' <br /> 8.7 Defective Work <br /> A. Correction of Defective Work <br /> 1. When, and as often as the Owner's Representative determines through his or her inspection <br /> procedures,material,Equipment or workmanship incorporated in the Project do not meet the <br /> requirements of the Contract, the Owner's Representative will give written notice of the <br /> noncompliance to the Contractor. Within fourteen(14) days from the receipt of such notice, <br /> the Contractor shall undertake the Work necessary to correct the deficiencies, and to comply <br /> with the Contract. If the Contractor disagrees with the Owner's Representative's <br /> determination and believes that the corrective Work should be covered by a Change Order, <br /> he or she shall immediately notify the Owner, in writing, setting forth its position. Within <br /> five (5) days after receipt of the Contractor's notification, the Owner will review the matter <br /> and notify the Contractor,in writing,of his or her determination. <br /> B. If the Owner determines that the corrective Work is required to comply with the Contract, the <br /> Contractor shall proceed with such Work.
